OCD

Living with OCD can feel like being trapped in an endless cycle of intrusive thoughts and compulsions.

You might do everything you can to push the thoughts away—checking, seeking reassurance, avoiding triggers—only to find them coming back stronger. It’s exhausting, frustrating, and can make it feel like you’ll never find relief. But real, lasting change is possible.

I specialize in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. ERP helps you break free from compulsions by learning to face uncertainty and discomfort without giving in to rituals. It’s not about getting rid of thoughts—it’s about changing your response to them so they no longer control your life.

You might:

  • Feel stuck in obsessive thoughts that won’t go away, no matter how hard you try.

  • Rely on compulsions (checking, counting, washing, repeating, mental rituals) to ease anxiety, only for it to return.

  • Avoid people, places, or situations that trigger your OCD.

  • Feel overwhelmed by doubt, perfectionism, or a need for certainty.

  • Worry that your thoughts mean something about you (they don’t).

In therapy, we’ll use ERP to:

  • Gradually face the thoughts, fears, and situations that trigger your OCD.

  • Learn how to resist compulsions and break the cycle of temporary relief and long-term distress.

  • Build confidence in your ability to tolerate uncertainty and discomfort.

  • Reduce OCD’s grip on your daily life so you can focus on what truly matters.

OCD doesn’t have to control you. With ERP, you can take back your time, energy, and peace of mind.
