FAQs

How do I start therapy for myself?

I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation, during which we will discuss what brings you to therapy and how I can help. Please send me an email through the Contact page. If we decide to work together, we will begin weekly sessions as soon as scheduling allows. The first two sessions include a clinical interview, discussion of current issues, and treatment plan. Beginning with the third session, I will provide psychoeducation about symptoms and treatment begins.

How do I start therapy for my child or teen?

We will schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation to discuss your child’s current concerns at home, school, and in other settings. The clinical intake takes two hours, one hour with your child and one hour with you. During the caregiver interview, I will gather background information and propose a comprehensive treatment plan. I offer guidance on how to communicate with your child about starting therapy before their first session.

What is your availability?

I see clients from 1-9pm on Mondays-Thursdays and 1-8pm on Fridays. Currently, I have a couple of afternoon spaces open.

How long are sessions?

All sessions are 50-minutes long and scheduled on a weekly basis initially.

Do you offer sliding scale fees?

Yes. I have a limited number of sliding scale spots reserved for clients with financial need. Currently, my sliding scale slots are full.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider and provide all documentation needed to for reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider and inquiring about your out-of-network benefits, including which CPT code is reimbursed. I use the CPT codes 90837 (60-minute therapy session) and 90834 (45-minute therapy session).

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

I offer hybrid sessions, primarily via telehealth with in-person sessions in Midtown Manhattan available quarterly.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Please cancel or reschedule 48 hours before your scheduled appointment to avoid a charge equivalent to the session fee. Additionally, appointments that are not attended will be subject to a 'no-show' fee equal to the session fee.
