Children

As children grow, they develop the capacity to regulate their own emotions, increase their self-reliance, and decrease their dependence on caregivers.

Nevertheless, along this journey, it is common for children to have difficulties with verbally identifying and communicating their emotions. Children experiencing anxiety, mood, attentional, and behavioral issues may particularly struggle to communicate their needs and feelings, instead resorting to expressing their frustrations behaviorally.

Parents are the experts when it comes to their children. As a result, I wholeheartedly welcome parents’ collaboration as it complements the overall treatment process and is key to making healthy, sustainable changes. My expertise draws from CBT, DBT, behavioral parent training, communication and social skills training, and emotion-focused approaches, allowing me to effectively tailor a treatment plan that can meet any child’s needs. I work to naturally introduce emotional vocabulary and coping skills to your child, encouraging them to increase their emotional regulation and awareness. Additionally, I work to support parents through this process by helping you to strengthen a healthy, well-informed foundation that is best-suited for your child's growth.
